How to Restrict Access to Private or Subscription Based Videos on Your Blog

RESTRICT ACCESS TO YOUR VIDEOS

When I was getting ready to launch my FREE 7 day video series on Unleashing Success to subscribers of my newsletter, I set out on a search to figure out how I could “hide” the videos on my blog page without going through the hassle of uploading them to my host server through FTP software.

In doing so, I found that uploading to public video sharing sites like YouTube, Viddler, Tangle, etc presented its own set of challenges.  I didn’t want folks who were visiting my channel on these sites to “stumble upon” my subscription based videos and be able to view them without subscribing or opting in; and I didn’t want to limit the number of people who I could share the “private” videos with.

So…off I went to find the answer!!!  And, wouldn’t you know it…my search led me to discovering an “easy as pie” solution available through Viddler called “Secret URL”s.

I was so excited about this cool find that I had to share it right away!!

So, I put together this step by step video tutorial to show you exactly how it is done.

    This is an awesome post! Talk about value laden. This is one of those tricky little things that isn’t easy to learn and you’ve managed to make it easy!

    Great post Krista, not many people know how to do this stuff. Youll also want to check out EZS3 and Amazon S3. They actually work hand in hand to deliver encrypted video to your websites and they are really great for membership sites.
