Managing Your Twitter Following

Welcome Back! If you haven't already signed up for my FREE 7 Day video series on "Secrets to Unleashing Success", do it now!!! You won't regret it. :)

Finding and keeping great Tweeps, and Tweeples, while dumping the Twitter Twits…

Alas, I have discovered another FREE Twitter Tool to help you manage your twitter following!

Twitter is an incredibly powerful social media tool that can help you build relationships with new people, network with prospects or potential business partners, and grow your business on-line, all while increasing your sphere of influence.

Once you have established your twitter presence, it is important that you begin to find great people to follow and that you begin tweeting valuable content to attract followers to you.  In doing so, most twitter users (aka: “tweeples”) will choose to “follow you” back.   There are many, however, that for various reasons will choose to not return the favor or who are only out there to blast you with their affiliate links and spew spam everywhere (aka: “Twitter Twits”).

In these cases, you as the manager and CEO of your twitter world, will have to decide whether you want to continue following  or opt to “unfollow” them.

So what do you do with these tweeple?

How do you find out who they are?

How do you decide who to keep and who to dump?

I answer these and other questions in my video below.  Check it out!!!

Now, I realize, there are software tools out there can help you do this automatically, but I prefer to do it manually as long as it remains manageable time wise (and it does if you do it every few days).  The automated options will review your twitter account and automatically “unfollow” those who are not following you back…including those who may be leaders in your industry or niche that you WANT to continue following.  While faster, this just doesn’t give you the opportunity to review the profile and make an informed decision before choosing to “unfollow” a person.

Well, I hope you enjoyed that. Please drop down below and leave me some comments and let me know what you think…

Do you have some great Twitter stories to share?

How about some tips or tricks you’ve discovered to help you manage your following?

Have you found some successful techniques for building your business through twitter?

Oh, and before I forget….if you aren’t already following me on Twitter, you can just click here and follow, follow, follow!!! :-)

Now, go out there and manage your Twitter account well, my friends.

To Your Tweeting Success!!

    Hi Krista,
thanks for this great little tip,
I was wondering what to do to eliminate some of the people that don’t follow me,
I will definitely use it a great tool
    thanks

@jean, Thanks Jean. I have found that running it a couple of times a week keeps it manageable. Another little tip on running this is to do it a few days after your last big “follow” action. Otherwise,we might end up unfollowig people we just followed.

Great video, Krista! Friend or Follow looks really easy – much easier than the Twitter follow program I tried to use, then never used because I didn’t “get” it. I’m headed over to friendorfollow.com now.
    Thanks,
    Teresa

And I agree…it saves TONS of time. I did the manual reviews ONE time, then I knew I had to find something easier and faster. That’s the search that led me to Friend or Follow. Thanks for this post Krista.

Twitter can be a powerful way to connect with people, but it can also be very difficult to manage if you don’t know what you’re doing. This will help many to “get a grip” on managing large numbers of “tweeps”!

    You’re doing an awesome job!!

    Good stuff Krista.

I will tell you that when you get over 20,000 followers, Friend/follow tends to mess up quite a bit.

Another great tool that I use is http://www.buzzom.com

Thanks for sharing! BTW, I LOVE the intro to your video!

@Justin Glover, Hi Justin, YES – I’m sure it DOES get a little “messed up” with over 20,000 followers. The Friend or Follow “pet the bunny” thing would probably time out on that. LOL

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your comments and comps on the vid intro.

    Take Care,

    Hey Krista,

Thanks for the cool tool. I have used Twitter Karma in the past but its quite temperamental and loads really slow as your following gets bigger.

Will use this one for sure.
    Thanks Hun,

    @Beth Hewitt,

    Beth,
Awesome. Thanks so much for the comment. I hope that you will find Friend or Follow useful. It is sometimes slow loading with a big following, but I have found it to be accurate. It’s helpful to do it on a regular basis though so “unfollows” don’e “pile up” on you.

    Best of Luck with it!
