Enjoying The Next Level of Video Marketing
As most experienced internet marketers know, there are a multitude of marketing techniques that can be leveraged to drive traffic to your website and generate leads to your on-line business. While I do use a variety of techniques in my business, I admit video marketing is one of my favorites.
Let’s face it. We are a media driven society. And, in a media driven society, video stands out. For the first several months of using video marketing in my business, I used the same software a large majority of my colleagues use and recommend, Windows Move Maker (WMM). This is actually a great FREE software application that comes standard with most PCs today and for the price (free) puts out a pretty decent quality video. In fact all of my video posts prior to this one were created on WMM. Camtasia, though is…

GoDaddy: WordPress Incompatibility with Windows Platform
Posted on 25. Apr, 2010 by Krista Abbott.
Last year, when I first started exploring the wonderful world of self-hosted WordPress blogging, I contacted my host Go-Daddy to ask some questions and get started. Their wonderful technical support agents directed me on how to install the WordPress application in my GoDaddy back office, set up my database and all of the other “behind the scenes” technical mumbo jumbo that goes along with blogging. There was, however, ONE VERY CRITICAL piece of information, GoDaddy failed to point out to me. So, for the past 6 months (2 months of pre-launch development, and then subsequent launch and maintenance) I have earned a “frequent flyer” designation with GoDaddy technical support. Still with multiple calls and several hours of going back and forth with technical reps and administrator support (that’s who you get to talk to when the technical reps can’t figure out what’s going on) I was experiencing problems that my other blogging friends never had to deal with. What?!!??
With the help of my techie guru, we figured it out…How Can You Make Sure the Foundation Your Blog is Built On Is Not Shaky Ground? Keep Reading to find out more!

4 Critical Things to Look for in a Mentor
Posted on 06. Apr, 2010 by Krista Abbott.
Mentors create success.
It’s that simple. Having a strong mentor in your life can make a huge impact in the levels of success you are able to reach in your business, your personal life, and your spiritual journey. In fact, it may be the single most important thing you can do to advance your life in the direction you want it to go.
YOU are the designer of your life. You have, innately within you, the wherewithal to determine where your life goes and how you get there. I heard it said once, that success does not happen by chance, success happens on purpose.
In my reflections I’ve thought about the dreams I have already achieved and those I am living now; I also thought about those I still have and that I am still working toward. As I thought, I remembered my mentors, how they influenced me and helped me realize success as I know it today and who push me to continue reaching for the “Big Dreams”. I wanted to share some thoughts with you on what mentoring is and what good mentors do…

What an AMAZING secret ninja trick for keyword searches and SEO optimization!!!
I had the distinct privilege, along with some other Empowered Entrepreneur students, to be on an amazing webinar last night with a Google Insider who revealed some PREH-TEE-SAH-WHEET (pretty sweet) secrets to choosing the right key words for both SEO (search engine optimization) and Google Adwords. Now I have to say, there were so many amazing things that she shared in the two hours we were on the webinar that I had information overload about half way through.
Never-the-less, I trudged through because I wanted to glean all I could from this expert of experts (I mean, really…it’s not every day that you get to hear super secret internet ninja tricks from someone who actually worked at Google) on Ad Words and SEO (Search Engine Optimization)…

The Power of Perspective
Posted on 16. Feb, 2010 by Krista Abbott.
How we choose to view our circumstances and our challenges in life determines both our direction and our outcome. In other words, your destination tomorrow is determined by the way you think today.
Recently, I have found myself in the midst of conversations with various people who want to voice their complaints or concerns over matters that they are dissatisfied with in life. Some of these matters are trivial, some are more serious, and all of them very real to the people I am talking to. It’s almost been uncanny the number of times, just this week, that I have talked with someone who is feeling challenged, feeling like a failure, thinking about giving up, or who has already given up and they just don’t know it yet. In other words, their heart forgot to tell their mind that they “quit”!
This is a dangerous place to be, my friends.
As entrepreneurs, as business leaders, or as leaders in life, we will all face set backs and challenges. These can come through a bad business deal, a betrayal by a partner, a failed idea or product launch. Some can be less serious but equally as challenging, such as the occasional technological glitch that on-line marketers are confronted with, or the rude , uncooperative team member. In your journey to success, there are always going to be challenges and obstacles to overcome, but you can emerge on top by choosing to maintain a proper perspective on the situation. The way you choose to handle these things today, in the present, can have far reaching impact on your future outcomes. So what can you do to overcome?

Managing Your Twitter Following
Posted on 09. Feb, 2010 by Krista Abbott.
Once you have established your twitter presence, it is important that you begin to find great people to follow and that you begin tweeting valuable content to attract followers to you. In doing so, most twitter users (aka: “tweeples”) will choose to “follow you” back. There are many, however, that for various reasons will choose to not return the favor or who are only out there to blast you with their affiliate links and spew spam everywhere (aka: “Twitter Twits”).
In these cases, you as the manager and CEO of your twitter world, will have to decide whether you want to continue following or opt to “unfollow” them.
So what do you do with these tweeple? How do you find out who they are? Finding and keeping great Tweeps, and Tweeples, while dumping the Twitter Twits? How do you decide who to keep and who to dump? I answer these and other questions in my video below. Alas, I have discovered another FREE Twitter Tool to help you manage your twitter following…..

The Importance of Debriefing…or for Internet Marketers AB testing.
Posted on 02. Feb, 2010 by Krista Abbott.
DEBRIEFING….What questions should you ask yourself? What are the steps to Debriefing?
Today, I was watching a video clip of the Blue Angels. For those who do not know who the Blue Angels are, they are an elite group of pilots who perform in air shows around the nation. These guys know how to fly and are the “top guns” in their profession. They do all of these super awesome moves in planes that cost “boo-koos” of money…so you know they are NO JOKE!!
The thing I found most intriguing is that, according to this video, these pilots spend more time in the debriefing process than they do in the actual performance in the air show.
During their debrief they critique themselves in front of their peers and share both their good points and their opportunities for improvement. They always admit their own mistakes in the performance and recognize where they need to make improvements for next time. Then they set a plan in motion to correct those errors in flight before the next air show.
