About Krista Abbott

Here’s where I could give you the “official bio” that makes me sound all important, but I decided not to go that route on this page. I wanted to let you know me on a personal level, so this is the “official, unofficial bio”. If you want to read that “official bio” when you are finished with this, then have at it – I will leave you a link. So, with that said….

I live in Florida, where I have spent the vast majority of my life. I have lived in every region of Florida – North Florida (more like Georgia, really), Central Florida (the house of the mouse), and South Florida (where everyone is a transplant from some other northern state that starts with “new”…ie “New York”, “New Jersey”, “New Hampshire”…you get the idea).

I’ve experienced the beauty of the beach, and the serenity of sitting under a palm tree taking in the sunshine. I have also experienced the destructive force and devastation of hurricanes and tropical storms. During “winter”, I have to dress in layers because it may be cold in the morning and blazing hot in the afternoon. The good thing about growing up in Florida and experiencing these variations in weather and temperature is that it has taught me to expect change, to be flexible and to practice preparedness in every situation.

I am a deeply spiritual person. I believe in God and am continually amazed at His creative brilliance, His attention to detail, and His love for humanity.

I embrace creation and intelligent design because it just makes sense. I don’t believe our world was an accident or the result of some unidentified cosmic or scientific forces that merged and suddenly – “BANG! Here we are”. Nah!! I don’t buy it – humans, animals, nature…..they are all too detailed and crafted with purpose to be evolutionary or coincidental.

There is a Creator, a master artist that designed this canvas of life we find ourselves in – and He has created us for a greater purpose. We just have to discover what that purpose is, and once we do that, the rest starts falling into place.

He has also created us in His image, so I believe we too have His creative power flowing through us and that nothing is impossible to accomplish if we only believe that it can be done.

Here’s a picture of me with Ben Stein. This was taken a couple of years ago when he was promoting his documentary film – “Expelled – No Intelligence Allowed”. This is a great film exposing the crap – errr… should I say “unsavory treatment”, Creationist have to endure from those in the camp of evolution.”

My Story

I made good grades in school, loved to learn, to read, and to grow. I graduated from Southeastern University, Lakeland Florida in 1994 with honors and earned my degree in Psychology. I started my career in social services, searched around for the “right fit”, wasn’t happy so I loaded everything in a moving truck and took off to Arizona.

I had never been to Arizona before, it just sounded like a cool place to go and “find myself”, so I went….stuff in tow. I lasted in the desert all of about 5 months, then I loaded it all up and came back to Florida. I did learn a lot about myself while I was out there and by the time I got back I was ready to settle in again. That’s just what I did – settle in and I found great success in my career.

Eventually, I ended up in management for a large organization committed to serving and helping those in need. I have enjoyed the challenges, learning opportunities and ability to give back to my fellow humans that position afforded me.

Even in that, I still had a sense that there was more I was supposed to be doing.

See, I lived a long time frustrated and confused, not really sure what I wanted to do with myself or how I would go about doing it once I figured it out. Most people would say I had acquired success already, but I never quite had the satisfaction and fulfillment that is supposed to come with “success” – as defined by most people, anyway.

There was one “nagging knowing” deep in my being, that I could never escape…like a driving force inside of me that wouldn’t let me stop reaching for something more, something deeper, something that felt more natural and enjoyable for me. I think a lot of the frustration I experienced came from seeing myself “there” at the place I knew I should be, but not living in the reality of it…yet.

I knew that I was meant and destined for so much more than what I was currently experiencing and it was that “knowing” that kept me reaching, learning, growing, and trying to discover what it was. It’s like I have always had an internal knowledge that I was meant for more than a “status quo” life with a good job, good paycheck, benefits, and retirement plan.

Success, in my opinion, is something way bigger and way deeper than the surface indicators that most people use to measure it.

I have been extremely blessed to have been mentored by some fantastic leaders. I’ve had the honor of learning about leadership from some of the best and most courageous leaders out there today. These have been “the good leaders”, the one’s I have learned and grown from.

Unfortunately, I have also had some very bad leaders in my life. Along the way, I have been lied to and taken advantage of by people I trusted, by those in leadership, who were supposed to be setting an example.

Those same leaders made promises that they never followed through on, some of them turned on me when I wouldn’t violate my integrity or guiding principles to do the unethical things they wanted me to do.

I’ve experienced the heartbreak and disappointment that accompanies betrayal by those you look up to, by those who lead you.

I’ve learned lessons the hard way; I’ve made mistakes – some of which have cost me a lot of time, a lot of money, and a lot of energy.

I tell you all of that not to be “Debbie Downer” (the SNL character), but to say I’ve been there, but I’ve come through it all a better person. I have taken the opportunity to learn “what TO do” from the good leaders, and “what NOT to do” from the bad ones. It has been all of these experiences that has made me who I am today – more determined, stronger, more committed to doing the right thing and creating success for myself and those who are a part of my life.

There have been many opportunities to quit, to walk away, to take the easy road – but that’s just not me. See, I have a winner’s attitude, and one of my mentor’s once told me “Winners never quit, and quitters never win.”

I never gave up, because I am a winner, not a quitter. I knew there was more and while I may have found a lot of things that didn’t work, I knew one day I would find something that did.

And now I’m here…

An Entrepreneur – A Network Marketer – A Business Consultant – A Coach – A Writer – A Media Personality

Wow!! It’s been a hard road, but I have found what I have been preparing for my entire life.

What I Do and Why I Do It

I am a CONSULTANT who provides valuable advice in the areas of business, marketing, management, leadership, writing, and strategy.

Through my professional experience, I have gained a wealth of knowledge about organizational cultures and performance excellence. I have learned what works and what doesn’t work with people.

I am able to share with my clients the strategies and techniques needed to make any business successful and productive. See, organizations are made up of people, so regardless of the type of work or the niche of the organization – the principles of success and leadership are the same.

I am a COACH who cares deeply about helping others discover their potential, grow personally, and create success in their life.

I have been fortunate enough to connect with some amazingly successful people in this industry, who have taken me under their wing, mentored me and coached me. I have learned the right things to do from these people. I have also learned “what not to do”, from those other “yay-hoos” (bad leaders) I mentioned earlier.

It is now my turn to share what I have learned, to pay it forward and help others avoid the pitfalls and mistakes I had, and to share with them the way to achieve personal fulfillment and success while advancing their business to the next level.

Core Values

Love

I approach every person and every situation with the mindset and intention of loving and accepting them unconditionally and free of judgment. I love to love people and make them feel good about themselves. I believe that every person is born to love and be loved. I believe we are created in the image of God, who personifies love and it is woven into the fabric of our DNA to be walking examples of His love to those around us.

Ignite

A fire burns inside of me for the truth to be known and for people to be set free from false and limiting beliefs. A fire, when properly tended can serve to purify, propel, and promote. My desire is to help you find that fire within so that you can tap into the driving force that will push you into a full pursuit of your dreams.

Lead

By effectively leading myself and working toward self-growth in every area of work and life, then I can more adequately lead and inspire those around me. I believe solid leadership is at the core of every individual and business success. A person can not lead others, until they first learn to lead themselves. This is why I have made it my life-long focus to develop and grow my own leadership potential.

Honor

I believe in a culture of honor and choose to recognize the giftedness in every person I encounter. Every person was created by God and carries his DNA inside of them, therefore they are worthy to be treated with honor. When we honor others, we honor God, and when we dishonor others, we dishonor God. I choose to honor the people I encounter by recognizing their uniqueness, their giftedness, and the beauty they bring to Earth. I choose to help them see their strength and help them discover WHO THEY ARE and who they were created to be. I choose to honor their choices, their views, and opinions, even when I disagree.

Inspire

I am compelled to inspire people to discover and fulfill their purpose and pursue their dreams and passions in life. I believe God breathes inspiration into the hearts and souls of each of us when we arrive on the planet, and that we come here with a purpose inside of us. Part of the joy in the journey of life is walking the path of discovery to find what that purpose is, and then being ignited with a driving passion to “go for it.” My passion is to be an instrument to inspire and ignite people to do that—”to go for it!”

Growth

I love to grow and learn new things,I believe we grow from every experience in life, and I take a proactive role in self-growth and development. I enjoy expanding my horizons and branching out into things that are uncomfortable or unfamiliar, to explore my inner world and discover areas I need to expand. I willingly and openly admit my mistakes and shortcomings, and take personal responsibility for them. I don’t believe we are defined by the mistakes we make in life, but by how we learn and grow from those mistakes. You win some, you learn some, but you never lose anything, as long as you grow.
